One of the problems of Radio 4 is their lack of detail and consequently their very weak interviewing style. Indeed I thought WW got a much easier ride than the Head of NATs, who was asked to forego his bonus. But it was under WW that BA had a disastrous opening of T5 and the subsequent IT and myriad of other issues during his tenure. So his pontificating on the woes of NATS rang hollow. He did however make it clear that making NATS pay won't work as the model simply allows them to hike charges and the airlines pay in the end.

Of greater concern was his suggestion that following Brexit, the UK should look again at the whole regime of UK261. While that may be an option, it would be the nuclear option. Not that I think he had thought that through very well. If the UK dumped UK261 tomorrow UK airlines would still be on the hook for ex EU traffic which would be covered by EU261. I for one will gladly forgo my exec club card and Avios to retain my UK 261 rights.

I am also struck by the very poor communication of the news outlets about what exactly passengers are entitled to
