Chexy for paying rent with credit card in Canada
I discovered this service called Chexy recently, which lets you pay rent with credit card in Canada.
This is very useful for hitting minimum spends on credit card bonuses, especially given how crazy rent has become in this country.
I used it last month and my payment was received by my landlord. It was actually pretty easy, as I just setup the payment amount and date and it was automatically sent.
The fee was 1.75%, which isn't totally offset by most cards earn rate, but with spend bonuses it could make sense.
Apparently they're working on migrating payment processors to get the payment classified as a recurring bill payment, in which case the fee would be more than paid off by certain credit cards.
