Another datapoint here. Baby born mid 2022 (now very much a toddler), both myself and wife had (re)qualified for our respective status (albeit at the COVID reduced threshold), and I also therefore didn't need the COVID extension that was still being issued then.
Both of us have now been given status hold for our next TP year, having emailed with birth certificate and explanation of parental leave.
Based on info here I didn't ask for the extension straight away, and only emailed when nearing the end of my TP year.
