On checking, the third party is a banking portal which (in the best interpretation of the situation) credits the hotel's account. I still find it troubling so contacted the Diamond folk who suggested contacting by email:
[email protected], who will apparently assist me making the payment.
Life's too short for that sort of rigmarole!
