1. One of the Plat Medallion benefits says that I can chose Comfort+ seats soon after ticketing even if I book Main. I made a domestic booking yesterday and still cannot do so without it telling me there will be a fee. I think this might have to do with the fact that the booking is for three people (I am one of them) and there might be a guest limit to the benefit - can someone explain how that works and what the limit is?

2. Comfort+/F upgrade 120 hours before the flight. On AA I can only get one guest onto the upgrade list, and when there's more than 2 people on the record locator, I have to call the EXP desk to have them split the booking. Is it the same procedure with Delta?

Thanks!

You are correct -- the C+ and F upgrade benefits only work with a single companion. For more than 1 companion, it requires everyone to have Medallion status and then the way in which you check-in dictates whether your clearance priority. If you have any general members on reservation you are out of luck as long as they remain on your ticket -- you would need to split them off (or split off the other member to get down to just a single companion) to be eligible.

That said, I can't recall if preferred seats are treated like upgrades these days or if you can select preferred seats (e.g., exit rows) for free when you have 2+ companions -- so that could be an option.
