BA has been absolutely appalling, they sent out zero proactive notifications of delays or cancellations on either booking we had. Airport staff just handed out a piece of paper saying “all flights cancelled”, and said to sort out your own accommodation and rebooking. Links and QR codes sent out late last night don’t work, and now the bookings are both just dead and can’t be retrieved.
LH is no angel in these circumstances, but wow at least they will send a delay or cxl text message, and you can queue to get a hotel or food voucher if you can’t afford to do so under your own steam.
I feel sorry for all the families that were coming back from their travels yesterday!
I have an LX ex-LHR flight tomorrow, hoping it’s back to normal by then.
