You have to read carefully. Some cancel dates can be in the past, especially if there is an event occuring around your dates. Do not rely on a 24hr cancel window.

For example, trying booking the Marriott Tang Plaza Singapore for Sept. 10-24, overlapping the F1 race. The 'flexible rate' cancellation date is 2 weeks ago, with a full stay penatly:
  • You may cancel your reservation for no charge before 11:59 PM local hotel time on August 11, 2023 (30 day[s] before arrival).
  • Please note that we will assess a fee of 9115.2 SGD if you must cancel after this deadline.
