Some of the weird rooms I have seen are the Fairmont rooms where the bed is directly facing the door which faces a long hallway. Some Fairmont rooms are almost as large as the Deluxe rooms and some of them have a small turret.
The last time I stayed there, was before they built the parking lot, but the parking garage was condemned and out of service. They were asking for 20 to 30 minutes then, because they were parking all the cars at a garage in Byward Market. If they're still asking for 30 minutes, then I suspect they're still parking them offsite, and maybe it's a bonus if they happen to have room in the hotel lot for your car and they can get it faster. I know they had plans to rebuild a garage, but maybe that's all on hold while the sort out the building addition.

I think they could do a lot better. Other similar properties have done a reasonably good job over the years at trying to make their additions fit the style. Examples below of some Empress, Royal York, Chateau Lake Louise and Chateau Frontenac additions, before and after.

How they came up with this monstrosity, just boggles my mind...

I'm sure they could have built it to look like the original; they just didn't want to pay what it would cost to do so.
