One more question: do you recommend ANZ Platinum over Amex Platinum?
I hold both; ANZ for the 50% ‘non-metal’ SP earn on NZ flights, and AMEX for some APD/SP - although my spend is purely personal so the APD/SP earn from credit card spend is (presumably) quite low in comparison to most and the ‘value’ of the AMEX card is probably questionable.

I also have a Kiwibank basic card purely to ‘buy’ APD as required to apply to Elite AirPoint Dollar upgrades (mainly for gifting to family), and recently to ‘buy’ an award flight 2 pax on BR TPE-SGN for APD250 in Y (each, one-way), a paid tix was NZD 370 each, so a no-brainer. I nearly weakened and brought them both biz forAPD500, but only 1 seat was available…
