I've seen announcements for Aeromexico connecting at MEX and VivaAerobus going to a few domestic destinations, including TIJ which would be really nice. I can see some seasonal shift from the US carriers to the new airport once it comes online. Alaska just announced expansion to Mexico including flights to ZIH, so I could see them trying it.
