Impressive -- that's a tough place to get into! If we were home I would definitely join -- but we aren't back until the 15th now

Assuming you are visiting and staying at a hotel -- some time spent in the hotel bar meeting people could be an idea but risky I suppose. Another option might be to rent a companion for the meal -- there are many services in Tokyo that provide this service -- a quick google search will lead to multiple sites... You will probably have to pay for their meal (and time) -- but if that is the cost for once in a lifetime sushi -- it will be worth it!
