There are still properties applying this very flexible cancellation time and even 6pm on the day of arrival, which is rare but still exists.

Hotels were very flexible during covid. Now most (not all) offer 1 day before arrival with various times for cancellation. Some other are more restrictive with shorter timing for cancellation.
