Hilton Rotterdam

spent one night pre-cruise on a cash stay as a Diamond.

The Grand Prix car race is going on in Amsterdam this weekend and hotel rates were even higher than usual. Also, we were coming up from Brussels. So, at one third the cost of Amsterdam, we tried the Hilton Rotterdam.

I was “upgraded” two days before to an “executive” room. As usual, it appeared to be a typical room. Maybe the Expresso machine made the difference. The room was minimalist with one uncomfortable desk chair. Kind of a nordic vibe. Bathroom was on pare with Holiday Inn Express.

The lounge was as described above. On the ground floor off the lobby. Limited hot food. Two beers, wine, and free pour spirits. As said above, the breads were great. Very friendly lounge attendant.

Breakfast was solid but not great. Nothing good nor bad stood out.

The train station is only 2 blocks and 10 minutes away. Amsterdam Central is between 45 and 90 minutes away depending on the train.

At 130euro, it is a good alternative to the Hilton at AMS. Also, Rotterdam seems like an easier and more open city than Amsterdam.
