Yes, the current economic woes of a very large portion of Argentines are very real and very serious, but as tourists you will not have any serious issues unless you wander out into the wrong areas at the wrong times. Use common sense, avoid touristy areas when there are demonstrations and stay informed of whats going on in the city you are visiting. Dont bring any fancy jewelry, expensive watches, and be aware of your surroundings... you will be fine.

I'll be in BA next Thurs for 5 nights (1 day to Colonia) not worried and will simply ask at my hotel, where if any place I should avoid being if any at all
