Overall, I thought the Munich Marriott in Schwabinger was a great value - at only 118 EUR a night, it might not be the most updated or fancy Marriott, but it was well-run and comfortable enough. Here are my pros, cons, and photos:

Pros:
  • Upgraded to a Family Suite at check-in (the app the morning of arrival had shown a Junior Suite upgrade), which is a large suite with separate living room and bedroom
  • The bed was generally comfortable - covers were fine (a bit thin, but the bedroom was warm), mattress was German firm but not springy, most of the pillows were plush - I slept well
  • The bathroom had a really nice heated floor - is this a 5-star??? Lol
  • Service at the front desk was friendly
  • Asked about late checkout proactively - no issue with the 3 PM I asked for
  • Elites offered 2 drinks per day from Grab and Go - no waters in room, so you can get big bottles of still water here
  • Elite Zone in the restaurant is basically a lounge - tasty blue cheese and yummy chocolate pudding dessert
  • Elite breakfast in the restaurant is good - nice omelet and really good pancakes (I stole them as the chef put the fresh ones on top - so sneaky), bacon was nice and crispy
  • TVs had Android TV and a nice YouTube app - good for staying in during the rain
Neutral:
  • Bedroom climate control was quite warm - this was fine as it's 16 outside - turning the knob didn't seem to do much
Cons:
  • Shower pressure is fine, but the shower stall is just too small
  • No Ambassador in-room welcome gift
Overall, this was a nice place to stay dry during the rain.
