That makes me wonder what the round turret room is on the 4th floor next to your room? It doesn't appear to attach to any adjacent rooms, so I suppose it's also sold as a studio room of some variety, presumably with bathroom added, but it would be an almost completely round guest room. It looks like there is one flat wall, so maybe the put the bed there, but everywhere else would make for an interesting furniture placement.
There are a few things interesting. First of all, the floor plan I posted showed the wrong room?!?! I was in room 474, where the washroom was located on the left (north) side of the room, as can be seen from the picture posted above, but the floor plan in my room seemed to be for room 476 further down (further north). The fire extinguisher was located north of my room, further proving that the floor plan was for the wrong room. This picture was taken right outside of my room.
Here is how it looks like from the outside.
I also wondered about the room 478 in the large turret. Curious to know about the room category and its layout. If hotel rooms can be selected as seats on a plane, I would definitely try 478 to see how it looks like. One thing I noticed is the door of room 476 and 478 are not located on the main hallway, they are located on a mini hallway that branches out from the main hallway, as can be seen on the floor plan. Maybe these two rooms can be connected to a suite by adding a door on the mini hallway, similar to the Gold Signature suites at the end of the hallway at CFH. The two rooms north of the turret are also in this situation where the doors are located on a mini hallway.
I am really interested in the layout of this hotel. I know there is a 7th floor which is used as office space but apparently there is at least one more floor above it. Next time I visit CLH I should probably visit each floor and take pictures of the floor plan posted near the elevators.
So what's the state of the renovations there? Have they rebuilt the parking garage? Have the started building the ugly radiator addition on the park side of the hotel?
There was no sign of any renovation. I don't think anything has changed since they demolished the parking garage at the back and replaced it with the parking lot. Here are some pictures showing the back of the hotel.
