Some contracts stipulate that the employee must be verified and what method such as business card, corporate email and in some cases, where it has not been booked via the corporate TA or booking tool, they may instruct the property to check with the travel department at the corporation with the relevant contact details.
Contracts may also stipulate what level of employee can use the code and if for business use or and leisure.
I have direct experience with these so speak factually.
