I goofed and ordered an oversized carry-on by mistake

TL;DR: I ordered the Tumi 19 Degree Aluminum Continental Carry-On without realizing that it is oversized for Air Canada. How screwed am I?

So at my job, employees can send each other recognition points for good work. I’ve been saving up my points for a long time and finally had enough to order a Tumi bag from the redemption catalogue. I was super excited since I’ve only ever owned hand-me-downs and this was the first piece of luggage I’ve ever picked out myself.

The item description said “designed to fit most domestic carriers carry-on guidelines”, and I took them at their word instead of actually checking the dimensions myself. I realize now that they were referring to US domestic carriers, not Canadian.

It was only after I received the bag that I double-checked the measurements:

Height: 56 cm (Air Canada max is 55 cm)
Width: 42 cm (Air Canada max is 40 cm)
Depth: 23 cm (Air Canada max is 23 cm)

So the bag is very slightly oversized. How likely is it that I’ll be denied carry-on with this bag? I hate breaking rules on principle, but given that the bag is so close to complying with the size guidelines, do you think I can get away with using it on AC?
