Well, if that's the case, QR should just apply again in a few months time. Alan Joyce finishes at Qantas in November 2023, which is only a couple of months away now.
I'd say QR will eventually get the rights, and they should, as the market can certainly cope with the extra capacity. It also brings in more competition against the Qantas/Emirates alliance. I think it's a win all round, and a shame that it was rejected at this point.
