I blame the bloggers in part because A) they hype the cards incessantly and B) complain endlessly at every devaluation. And refuse to acknowledge any link between the two. Zero credibility.

Leff and co bloggers don't actually care about being able to redeem miles for anything useful...they just care about their referral bonuses and clicks on their websites.

(oh, and AA and other airlines have been bankrupt before, miles stuck around just fine, if devalued)
