Advice on Carbon offsets for my next flights

This may have been discussed elsewhere, so please point me in the right direction if necessary.

I'd like to offset our upcoming flights (well actually my partner does, as I'm less conscientious). Since I'm the admin person and am therefore looking into it, does anyone have any advice or thoughts with regard to BA and their carbon-offsetting? Their calculator shows the lowest contribution for our flights is £325 and the highest is £1300.

I've planted several trees in the last few years but that has not impressed my partner.

And, apologies for being crass, but if you buy carbon offsetting directly from BA, do you get avios ?
