My experiences have been quite different. This property is not perfect, but the staff are super friendly and really try their best to deliver a great stay. I am consistently upgraded to either a Broadway or Signature Terrace Suite. The rooms are comfortable and I've been pleasantly surprised at how quiet they are, particularly considering the location (Oakland in general tends to be LOUD). Valet has been very quick to deliver car - they utilize one of those automated text systems and IME it works great. Drop off can be a bit of challenge though because they're lightly staffed. Breakfast is decidedly mixed - service is super friendly but the food is IME pretty bland. I've never been charged for anything. Uptown location is excellent. Definitely my favorite property in the east bay.
