Feels like most Centurion members spend half their lives trying to get the damn card then the other half trying to justify keeping it

Mine is a Taiwan issued card and the tangible $ benefits are also mostly limited compared with US Centurion. However we do get up to 3 free cent cards and 4 platinum for authorized users. I combine this with the very nice 50% discount at various high end restaurants to enjoy a fancy meal with the family once or twice a month. I would say it nets me a few hunded dollars in savings every month but I wouldn't eat at these places without the deal so I guess it costs me money? Hmm.

In Taiwan we also get access to the Centurion house in Taipei (special events are OK, not really worth making a special trip from where I live) and free membership to a couple of hotel gyms. Hardly use this.

In 99% of daily interactions I am embarrassed to pull out the cent so I use a boring Visa card or my EVA cobrand Amex. The only places where it's kind of useful are snooty boutiques where you will sometimes get taken more seriously as a new client, I guess because they know you like spending a lot of money on frivolous crap 😉

The main feature I use is definitely my personal concierge. I hate dealing with people on the phone so much that I was paying a few thousand $ per year for a virtual PA, but my Centurion rep in Taiwan works so much better. I can send a text message to my rep saying something like "please arrange a 2 night break to x for our family this weekend". She knows the hotels I prefer, how much space we need and my preference for Amex specific deals, I get an email back a bit later with options and I can just reply back to book it. I have her organize all kinds of stuff like non hotel bookings, car service for clients, you name it. Saves me tens of hours every month and genuinely makes my life run smoother.

Anyway, if you feel that the annual fee is in any way a strain or burden you should absolutely dump the card now and not look back.
