Had a just right Delta flight which has been cancelled. Choice now is a too early flight or later flight. Later flight timed to allow connection only if things go right, with no alternative if they don't. Can't/don't want to take chances on connection to international flight on a different airline. Don't think anybody's arguing that spending 8-9 hours in a lounge is the preferred way to spend a day, but compared to sitting and staring at the closed gates to BA's bag drop for 3-4 hours, like we did last year at JFK Terminal 7, it's a cakewalk. (Whatever a cakewalk is).
