IMO the best thing to do is to buy a DL tkt that the flight itself is an ElAl aircraft that way you get 100% miles ( if Im correct no status miles, just reg miles) and the safety of flying on LY.
I believe that if you buy a Delta codeshare ticket on El Al metal you get status miles (MQM's).
