The amount of miles you end up Depends not if you flew on ElAl, but whose tkt it was. If you purchased an ElAl tkt then the amount of miles you'll end up with can be 25 or 50% of the total miles flown. If you purchased a DL tkt that was code-shared & flown on ElAl you get 100% of the miles.
IMO the best thing to do is to buy a DL tkt that the flight itself is an ElAl aircraft that way you get 100% miles ( if Im correct no status miles, just reg miles) and the safety of flying on LY. I dont think you can purchase an AA tkt on LY- no code shares so then you purchase a LY tkt andd request the miles for AA again its 25 or 50% of the total, again no status miles.
Its tricked but something is better than nothing. Last yr took a bump from CO on their non-stop and went CO to ZRH and LX(Swiss) into TLV. I gave LX
my AA# and got 1800+ miles no bonus for being a Plat nor any status miles. But heck 1800 was better than nothing.
