We have some 9 hours between Delta arrival at JFK Terminal 4 and BA LHR departure at Terminal 8. On similar flights last year when BA was at Terminal 7, we discovered that BA closed all check-in and bag drop after last morning flight until midafternoon. This resulted in us having to sit in some uncomfortable chairs waiting for about 3 hours, staring at the closed and gated BA check-in and bag drop. Despite flying in Club World and the lounge being open, we couldn't access the lounge because the BA check-in/bag drop desk was closed,
Trying to avoid the same situation this time, I asked on the AA board whether AA Terminal 8 agents would tag and accept bags for a BA ticket on BA metal. A response or two indicated that was not likely, but that there were posts on this BA board to the effect that BA now keeps at least one Terminal 8 check-in bag drop position open even when the others are closed. Of course that would cure our problem but, alas, I searched but couldn't find the mentioned posts.
So, anybody with info as whether BA keeps at least one Terminal 8 check-in bag drop position open, even when the others are closed? Also, anybody have info or experience with Terminal 8 check-in bag drop with AA for BA ticket on BA metal, when all BA positions are closed?
