Just log into BA.com and see if there is Avios availability, best check at just the leg concerned rather than anything complicated. There is a Chat option on BA.com, go to
ba.com/contact-us
after logging in and it's usually bottom of the screen. But if there is any money involved (e.g. tax changes) then Chat can't complete the booking. There is also Direct Message on X. It's probably worth getting VOIP / Skype working on your device so you can use wifi calling. It's not because you normally need to do this, but in case you have to!
Generally though, redemptions are very tricky to change on the day, and it's usually only done because it has to be done. Flexibility costs money.
