It's as simple as that: over-rated and I have stayed in nicer IHG holiday inn expresses at airports.

It's dated, sure undergoing renovation (probably not before time) but this is my third and probably last stay

1am check in was ok I guess. Was told I had an upgraded room on the App but it looked standard to me. (I'm platinum elite these days). I did request a runway view but had nothing like that. Room was tired. I had to use a tooth brush to keep the rain shower working. (jam the dated pull function followed by dripping noises from the shower). It's crazy for the price they charge that the room comes with 4 small milks and two powdered coffees. 🫣🤭Water bottle was provided. Late check out to 2pm was given (then they agreed to 3pm) but really I used to get that when gold with IHG at holiday inns and they gave the impression that they were being generous...so really again nothing to justify the spend at this hotel. Additionally, due to renovations all the eating places are just one now on the 2nd floor. I did not bother. By this stage I could not care about checking out the swimming pool this time and just left when I was ready (renovation noise started). Better of in an airline lounge!
