When I first picked up the CSP, I was definitely of the mindset of "CFF for dining and useful 5x quarters, CSP for travel and unlocking transfers." I've gone back and forth a bit on if there are ways to squeeze a bit more URs out of things, but I think (like many others), I'm running into the bad overlap issues that Chase has sort of set up - basically leading to "do I get a little more on a 5x CFF category for a small part of the year or do I get .5x more on the very small amount of unbonused spend each month?" (I've sort of optimized most other things to 3-5% cash back and then have an old, kind of useless Amex ED(P) that is hanging around for account age and the occasional upgrade/downgrade game.)
I like where your head is at with the Ink Cash - unfortunately, I moved and the only office supply stores around me are a pair of much-neglected Office Depots that don't have a great gift card selection, so that may not make a lot of sense right now.
I've got the original Freedom, the CFU, and the CSP. About the only time I use the Chase Freedom is if the quarterly category happens to match up with my needs (gasoline this quarter, but it is minimal impact) or for any merchant offers that happen to match my spend.. I find the CFU to be next to useless compared to two other cards that I have that do 2% back. While I can get 3% for online only groceries on the CSP my Amex Blue Cash does 3% on all groceries plus online shopping. For restaurants I usually use my Citi Custom Cash for 5% back. I've been asking myself lately why I have my Chase cards.
