I made the res late at night and forgot to put it in ARS, so I called the chains 800# and they said call the hotel the next day. Which I did and they said we dont charge you till you get here you only locked in the rate in USD but the amount of ARS wont be known till day of. depending on the rate per USD
Now the hotel uses the reg rate, so I believe that would be 347 today , I said can the hotel charge me in ARS and she said yes but we add 21% tx So if I paid today in ARS ca$h it would cost me apx $350 otherwise alot more if charged in ARS and $531 if they charge my CC in USD. If I had them charge my CC in ARS then its +21% tx and Visa is apx 20% less then the Blue Rate So I got some more US ca$h to take with me
Im more then willing to forgo any points due to the savings
I got the 20% from the Visa link that was posted a few posts up thread, where Visa said its 605 today, yet the Blue Rate sites says 725, a couple of weeks ago Visa was apx a 10% spread and I would have used my CC but at 20% no thanks, it changed after the 20% devaluation, I guess they felt the currency will be going all over the place and wanted to make sure they dont end up on the short end
