This is why I always wait until I see an Avis person physically scan the vehicle. In the past i would also wait for the printed final receipt but now they all prefer to email it. So far the email has been fine and I can usually pull up the receipt in the app. But based on this post I think I will continue requesting the paper copy.
The lesson here is never leave the car until you see someone close it out. The consequences if it is not done right will cost you more in terms of time and money than waiting.
Yeah this was a "one and done" type of thing. I did get it resolved that week. I'm glad I took a pic of it in the return area. I finally called President's Club line again after 48 hours, she stopped giving me the "it's just not on your account yet" line, told me where to email the picture, and they emailed me 24 hours later apologizing, saying it had been removed, and they didn't charge me anything extra. But annoying I had to even deal with that. Will definitely make sure to get someone in the future if nobody is returning cars.
