Yeah, I planned on doing that. A lot of the European carriers work like this. But SAS doesn't allocate additional seats to Star Golds or let them have them after the check-in window opens? I think I've seen vague references to this being an "unpublished" benefit.
There was a period where the selection in advance for *G was the same as for SK*G, but that has been a thing of the past for a good while.
