It should be fairly evident in the coming days whether this is a temporary removal or an actual cancellation. Although if it were the former, they'd usually zero out the inventory rather than remove the flight entirely.
I'm fine with rebooking JFK-MNL since I used AA miles and only $7.65 fee. MNL-ZAM was booked a while back but 5J made some changes to the flight that I can change it without surcharge. So we'll see in the next few days whether that schedule will be reinstated. If not, will just have to move my flight a day early.
