The walk between the Marriott and Shinagawa Station is like 15 minutes at maximum (probably more like 10) - unless there are severe mobility issues, you don't need to rely on a shuttle or use a taxi. It's not like AC Ginza is very close to Tokyo Station, and you'll probably walk between those two (though, that walk is more interesting).
Thanks for the reply. If people here don't think it's that bad a trek then this is refreshing to see. I was looking at some google reviews and a few of them absolutely trash the location, but perhaps that is more due to not being on a typical city street with restaurants and bars. As to your comment I see what you are saying but near the AC there is a closer Ginza station to get many places.
After looking at a few transit times I am coming to the conclusion that the Tokyo Marriott location is just fine for Shibuya/Shinjuku and that general area. It really starts to be a pain if trying to get to like Asakusa or Akihabara if tacking the walk on to the end, so I think it would be smart for us to divide the trip up geographically and actually plan well for once (lol).
