Spent days searching many one way routes both from US (BZN,DFW,ORD,DEN,PHL) and back (CDG,MAD, MIL,ZUR,AMS,FCO) for April-May 2024. Every business saver award at 57,500 meant 25+ hour trips, ungodly times (6am connections) and BA surcharges from $400 to $700 as every flight was routed thru LHR. Of course AA metal had flights of 10-15 hours with low fees if you had around 280,000 miles each to spend. So for me and wife to do business saver do we have to suffer the bad flights & pay over $1000 or are we missing something? Even doing a search of a separate positioning flight to a hub did not help much.
