I'd like to apply for a Southwest Business card and probably SW Personal to get a Companion Pass. I last did this around 2015 and both cards were closed maybe 3-4 years ago.
When I previously applied for the Southwest Business card, I applied using the name of my business, an LLC (separate EIN) that was established in the late 1990's and is still active. At that time, they initially declined me and were pretty ruthless when I appealed, requiring me to submit loads of documentation, tax filings, etc. I had read online about people applying for the business card just using their personal name (sole proprietorship) and being approved with no questions asked, so was quite frustrated that I was put through the ringer when I had an established business for 20+ years.
I'm wondering if it would be easier to apply for the Business card as a sole proprietor using my own SSN rather than the business. I've kept the LLC open but it now generates negligible income, so I don't want to get into having to provide details on it specifically. My personal credit rating is over 800 and I can document my personal income.
Advice? Apply for the business card as a sole proprietor and, if so, what information do they seek beyond what is normally requested for personal cards?
