I've done this many times. I've never had any points not post because of it, but you can't earn more than 1 EQN for 1 calendar night (absent 2x EQN promos or whatever).

I had a year where I had a series of ongoing Residence Inn stays, settled up monthly per our corporate contract. That never posed a problem for staying at other Marriotts during those stays.
