It looks like this lack of partner availability AC did on purpose! this is why I don't understand Aeroplan rush to sign up so many partners? for such a small Aeroplan client base (compare to US BIG 3), either AC plan to sell Aeroplan frequently like Avianca in the future?
Minting points by selling them cheaply, huge sign up bonuses for US credit cards, and then blocking fully or selectively WY, EY, TG, OZ, OS, LH, LX, CA, AV (did I miss any from this thread?) along with 500k own metal tickets, kinda smells of a ponzi scheme.

But at the end of the day, it is a voluntary sign up program, which still can present value if used right, so as with every purchase, make educated decisions.
Competition programs, especially in Canada, are not much better.
