Thanks, I appreciate the kind words it kinda makes it all worth it to know others read my report's, obviously I didn’t do this one live as I was entertaining and didn’t want to be unsociable.

They did offer to cut me an executive lounge key but I declined as it was a nice day and we went to lunch in the wharf ( some great restaurants over west India quay with nice sun terrace’s ).
We returned at 3pm and they then cut me a key to the lounge so we could wait until room to be ready.
To be fair it was ready @3:30 and the FD assistant came up to the lounge with the keys to both rooms and the drink chits.
On reflection when I stay here for my yearly Thames walk I've emailed in advance requesting a very early check in ( obviously happy to forfeit any upgrade) and for the last 7 years I’ve been in my room by 8am and even offered breakfast on arrival too…..I really can’t complain.
