I've had some overnight layovers at AMS and used hotels for which I've had free night coupons from various status.
Sheraton is a connected walk from the terminal. Awakened twice during the night in error by calls from the front desk.
Also Hyatt Place and Holiday Inn Express, both of which have shuttles to and from AMS. Both were typical for the brands.
