Sorry to hear about your subpar stay. While I do feel that Wanosato's idyllic environment, rustic & traditional charm and incredible food more than compensate for service that's less proactive than other top properties, your reported maintenance issues are surprising and definitely problematic.
We're likely headed to Takayama within the next 12 months and will have to see if it's regressed since the last time we were there in 2020. If it has, I'll definitely make sure to let management know of the shortcomings.
