Hotel President or Hotel President Wilson is an interesting property, but even I, Mr. Traditional Hotel Lover, think this hotel needs some updates. I enjoyed my stay, but the cash rates are crazy compared to what you get - perhaps, that's just Geneva. Here are my pros, cons, and photos:

Pros:
  • Upgraded to a Deluxe Lake View (no suites showed as available) the morning of arrival - evening of arrival had shown a Partial Lake View upgrade
  • The bed was very comfortable - plush mattress, plush pillows, and plush covers
  • The view towards Lake Geneva is very pretty
  • Left a welcome gift of salted caramel milk chocolates - tasty
  • Room wasn't ready at 1:30 PM, so I was given a drink ticket for the bar, which got me a very good iced latte
  • Offered late checkout - no issue with the 3 PM I requested
  • Service was friendly in a Swiss sort of way - escorted to the room, passport placed safely in my luggage after checking in, given a bottle of water at checkout
  • Elite welcome gift breakfast is quite nice - tasty buffet with made-to-order eggs and waffles / french toast / pancakes - only issue was the waffle was a bit crunchy for my taste - loved running into some travelers I recognized from breakfast at Prince de Galles last week and chatting
Neutral:
  • Shower setup needs updating as the shower pressure is fine, but the wand is hard to aim, and the half-glass is ineffective
  • AC is...fine, but not really adjustable
Cons:
  • Room needs more accessible outlets
  • Slide-in keycards seemed to deactivate very easily (perhaps from my AirPods case or other cards) - had to go down and get new ones twice
Overall, I would consider staying here again on points.
