I am not sure that aa staff are really the right people to ask but if you walk towards security there are usually people to point you to the lane the signs are dynamic so I suppose at any given time the lane could be closed but everytime I glance over the lane is open, the pictures above do a great job of depicting the lanes, you scan your boarding pass to get into the lane
