Off topic but I was just at Tj Maxx and they were selling a clear rimowa. I feel like this is a really frivolous purchase.
I think part of this is due to the brand name show off. Just like the handbags etc. It is very difficult to see if it is a fake or genuine unless you go and really have a close look and even then it may not be possible unless the person really knows the difference.
I had my luggage broken in PEK and did not have time to wait in line and argue with the airline staff(as had a meeting) and so went to Pearl market later in the day and got a hardcase suitcase. Looks like a top class one with the locks etc. Exactly what I was looking for. I just wanted one to last that trip only. Paid around 26 dollars for it. To my utter surprise it lasted more than 4 years of a tremendous amount of traveling before a small crack appeared.
