Yeah. I think this is most likely what happened. Might have looked like people getting off in London were getting checked but I’ve never seen this. I’m 99.9% sure it was only transferring pax getting the check.
On board BA229... admittedly I was in row 2 on the DUB flight so about 7 passengers were in front of me and they were being held for some sort of check.
When I saw this I was more certain to do the FCC route.
Anyway time to enjoy Club Suites and Beef Cheeks 😀
