Another great BA shitshow, even on HBO everyone has to check in at the airport, so they are wasting 180 passengers 2.5 hours each, even though the delay can clearly not be made up.
Sitting around the airport for an extra 2 or 3 hours is clearly not ideal, but I don't know how an alternative system would work.
I assume that BA use an agent to manage their affairs at AYT, and I assume that after the scheduled closure of the BA flight the check in people go elsewhere in the airport to manage operations for other airlines. I don't see how they could stay at the BA desk for another 2 or 3 hours when they are already committed elsewhere.
