A little OT, but does your middle name appear on your travel documents? My middle name appears only on my birth certificate; not on my passport, driver’s licence, Medicare card, etc. So it’s simple enough in my case, I just use my first and last names when booking airline tickets.

My wife and kids, on the other hand, have their middle names on their passports. We’ve always entered all 3 names in their respective fields and (knock on wood) haven’t had any issues. Are you suggesting they should simply omit their middle names despite appearing on their passports?
