Thank you. Perhaps it works sometimes.

The last time I tried Google Flights a couple of years back, I was looking for a one-way domestic US fare. It showed me a flight on AA that was $100+ cheaper than what was available on other airlines and had more suitable timings for me. I could not find that fare directly on AA or going to AA from Google Flights.

I tried it again a little while ago with my multi-city international itinerary. After selecting the same flights on Google Flights that I was selecting on the UA page, when I press "Continue", I see (on the UA site) that 2 of my flights are on Basic Economy. I don't see any way to change that or any option at any part of the search on Google Flights to specify Refundable Economy. I only had Econ, Premium Econ, Business and First as my options at the beginning. Once it displays the results on the UA site, I am essentially on the payment page with no ability to modify anything.

I don't know if I am missing something somewhere.

Yes, understood. Thanks.

Regarding your earlier comment about UA not charging fees for modifying non-refundable ticket, I'm somewhat wary because the refund (in adjusted fare) is sometimes in the form of electronic vouchers/future travel credits. Both must be used within 12 months. That's a deadline I don't want to deal with. UA often does not have good options for where I want to go. One time, I used my electronic travel cft to buy a ticket for a friend (which was allowed) and found that the cft was transferred to friend's name with the remaining balance, even though the T&Cs said it was not transferable.
