This guy had two cabin-size luggages with him in the video. Not sure if his companion had any. Maybe the two of them had three or more. He also admitted in the video he bought a lot of duty free products. Maybe what he had looked grossly over the limit. These might have triggered the gate agent. We'll never know.

CX is very lenient with carry-on most of the time. I don't think there's anything to worry about for most people.

I once saw a guy bringing THREE cabin-size luggages for an SQ ecnomony flight in MNL. The gate agent was very persistent that he would not be allowed to bring all of them. I think she did absolutely the right thing.
